One week through the Ukraine. Kiew and Lemberg (LVIV). Filmed on super8. Sound recorded on Dictaphone. A fantastic range of impressions, smells and people.

Eine Reise durch Rumänien, Bulgarien, Griechenland mit der Bahn, begleitet von einer super8 Kamera, gefilmt von Florian Brand, Stefan Wache, Manfred Schwaba. Ton mit einem Band-Diktiergerät. Schließlich wird der Film zusammengeschnitten und dann in der Hälfte geteilt. Dann werden beide Teile gleichzeitige an die Wand projiziert. Zusätzlich wird ein Rahmen aus Dias an die Wand geworfen. So entsteht eine mehrfaches Bildkomposition, die mit Video8 abgefilmt wird und auf VHS aufgenommen wird. Heute undenkbar.
1999 I did a big journey by train, together with two friends. We did not by Interrailtickets, because this would have cost much more. Rumania, Bulgaria and Greece impressed us very strongly. The Dining cars in Bulgaria are something nobody can imagine in the western European countrys. We filmed with 3 Super8 Cameras, cutted the Films at home, projected two at once, copared with Dias (which were masked at the two Film-positions) and combined the result with the original sound we recordet by a very small Dictaphone. It was shown at the MOVCITIES Film Festival, Kabelwerke Vienna 1999.
